For each Regional Transportation Authority project 1% of the construction budget is set aside and allocated for public art. Artists comissioned to create public art for the Broadway Project will be selected by a public art panel that consists of stakeholders that represent respective groups such as neighborhoods and businesses. After the artist(s) is selected the panel will provide the artist(s) with aesthetic ideas. Following this, the artist will provide concepts which will be displayed at public open houses for input. Final approval of public art will be made after these public open houses are held.
Discussions about public art and opportunities to join the art panel will begin after the project achieves 30%-completed design.
