Mayor and Council to Conduct Public Hearing on
30% Design Plan for Broadway Improvement Project

The 30% Design Plan for the Broadway Improvement Project between Euclid Avenue and Country Club Road is complete and will be presented at the Mayor and Council meeting, Tuesday, April 5, 2016, held at the Board of Supervisors Hearing Room, Pima County Administration Building, 130 West Congress, 1st Floor, starting at or after 5:30 p.m.
Representatives from the City of Tucson Department of Transportation will present information to the Mayor and Council on the 30% Design Plan followed by a hearing for public comment. Mayor and Council will not take action on the 30% Design Plan at this meeting; Mayor and Council are anticipated to take action on Tuesday, April 19, 2016.
This project is a Regional Transportation Authority Plan (RTA) roadway improvement managed by the City of Tucson that will widen Broadway from Euclid to Country Club to a six-lane arterial, with bike lanes and sidewalks with bus pullouts where appropriate. On March 29, 2016 the City of Tucson hosted a public meeting on the 30% Design Plan as part of its ongoing effort to gather public input and provide materials about the project. Project construction is anticipated to start in 2018.
